Dutch Medicine Man offers live plants and cuttings of Salvia divinorum, a sacred plant native to the cloud forest regions of Mexico, which holds cultural and spiritual significance for certain indigenous communities. Traditional use involves chewing fresh leaves rather than smoking, as smoking can lead to rapid overdosing and potentially negative experiences. 3 Plants Pack
By offering live plants and cuttings, we aim to provide individuals with the opportunity to cultivate and engage with Salvia divinorum in a manner that aligns with its traditional use. Growing your own plant allows for a deeper connection to the natural process and the ability to harvest fresh leaves for ceremonial or personal use.
November - March: Overwinter indoors in the south window, or with grow lights.
April - October: the plants can go outside, but first acclimatize well! You don't want them to burn to the UV light. I myself prefer to plant them in the open ground, then they can easily grow to 2 meters long with several stems in 1 season! Really big plants :)
NOTE: The old shamans say that the 'spirit' of the plant does not like fire, and advise against smoking or even burning the leaves. Me too.
The traditional way of using the plant is by chewing the leaves.
This can be done with both fresh leaves and dried leaves, the dried version must first be moistened again with some lukewarm water and possibly some honey. You can also make a tincture from the dried leaves.
